Six Characters for the Steam Elephant

wotw-clock-small-03I’m back from my night in Milan where I gave a short lecture on gaming and writing, and now I’m getting ready for the two-days of gaming and savagery at the Modena Play.

As I said, in Modena we will play The Steam Elephant Caper – and I’m preparing six characters straight out of GreyWorld for the gamers to get a taste of the setting.

Part of the fun is finding faces for these characters, so here’s a brief rundown of the six heroes that the players will have to choose from as they sit at my table this coming weekend.
No stats, no Edges and Hindrances, just a name, a single phrase as description, and a photograph*.

Captain Arthur Tyrrel

a

merchant, sky-pirate, tai-pan

Gorak of the Ram Tribe

f

a Neanderthal man and explorer, captain Tyrrell’s Number One Boy

Devendra Thrubshawe

c1

adventuress, a scandal looking for a place to happen, a spy for the Raj

Sergent major Avram Singh (retired)

an old soldier, a man looking for peace

Doctor Claire Govindaswami

a medical professional on her way to the Northwest Frontier

Doctor Lucinda Crawford

And so, this is the team – will they solve the mystery behind the Steam Elephant?
Will the players enjoy their game?
Will i come back home with a minimum of voice and stamina left?
Stay tuned for updates and extras.

  • NOTE: please notice these are not official GreyWorld illustrations – these are just images from my reference files, that I used when I was trying to draw the characters for the game. I hope the pictures will help the players envision their characters, and get the differences between this world and “traditional” s-punk worlds.
